ABOUT NEXT BIG THING

ABOUT NEXT BIG THING

NEXT BIG THING is a conference-like experience for creative people.

Brought to you by Mike Morrison (founder of SocialWest and Mike's Bloggity Blog) and Kait Kucy (lifestyle writer and founder of The Archives of Cool), NEXT BIG THING is your first stop on the road trip to making it big. A one-day-only gathering of Calgary's creative hive, NBT brings together designers, artists, authors, social media influencers and makers of all kinds. NEXT BIG THING follows a conference-like structure but with quick-to-the-point sessions (for those short attention spans), amazing networking opportunities and more time with the brilliant minds that we've asked to join us for the day. Oh - and maybe a dance party too.

Are you the NEXT BIG THING? Join us October 14, 2017 in Calgary, Alberta.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Kait Kucy is your typical multi-hyphenate (writer, blogger, designer, maker) - ultimately a big ideas person who gets zero sleep. When she isn’t out hunting the Next Big Thing in the wild streets of Calgary, she is writing columns for publications such as Avenue and Dote Magazine as well as several other online outlets. She has been obsessed with the world of blogging since Myspace blogs were a thing and has been writing her current blog The Archives of Cool since 2009. Beyond her editorial and blogging work, Kait also moonlights as a marketing and social media strategist, creating exciting and interesting content for clients. Her son Jack is her cutest, newest and most demanding client.  Instagram: @kaitkucy | @thearchivesofcool Twitter: @kaitkucy | @archivesofcool www.thearchivesofcool.com

Mike Morrison has felt uncomfortable about writing about himself in the third person for as long as he can remember.

Part blogger, part columnist, with a healthy dose of social media consultant, Morrison specializes in connecting people with brands, opportunities and unforgettable stories. Whether it be via print, online or television and radio segments, he's always looking to share the next big thing.

Through sponsorships, advertising and social media management, Mike regularly works with small to large companies and brands to deliver proven results.

He also owns every issue of Entertainment Weekly since 1997.
